SNOW ORDINANCE

The Greenwich Township Road Department is asking for your co-operation this winter in preparing your mailboxes for the snow plowing ahead. If your mailbox is hanging by one screw, positioned on a rotten pole or post, or is hanging too close to the curb, adjustments need to be made. The chance of this type of mailbox being pushed over by the weight of the snow coming off the plow, not from being hit by the plow are likely. Check your mailbox now for any of these problems while the weather is good.

When clearing snow from the end of your driveway, put it on the downside so it is taken away from the end of your driveway. Any snow shoveled or snow blown from the driveway or sidewalks into the freshly plowed streets is a VIOLATION OF TOWNSHIP ORDINANCE and will be reported to the Township Police Department.

We will continue to come around until your road is clear of snow, so please wait to do the end of your driveway. The town is setup into six routes. Each route takes about five (5) hours to complete from start to finish. This means when you see the truck on your road, it could be another 5 hours until you see it again. Sometimes we do have mechanical problems so please try to be patient.

Remember, we live in the Northeast and it snows!!! there is no magical way of removing and taking the snow with us.

Think Spring!!!

Happy Holidays
John Howell, CPWM
Road Department Foreman
